We're working on behalf of a well-established civil engineering contractor operating within the highways and infrastructure sector. Due to continued growth and secured long-term frameworks, they're looking to appoint a commercially strong Quantity Surveyor to support live projects and act as the key commercial point of contact on site. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys being close to delivery, understands NEC contracts, and is confident managing subcontractors and commercial reporting in a fast-paced environment. The Role You'll take day-to-day commercial responsibility for assigned schemes, working closely with operational teams to ensure strong financial control and contractual compliance. Key responsibilities include: Acting as the primary commercial contact on site, advising project teams on contractual and financial matters Managing cost and value reporting, WIP, forecasting, and identifying commercial risks with mitigation strategies Procuring and managing subcontractors, including tender analysis, rate negotiations, instructions, and dispute resolution Processing subcontractor applications and payments with full supporting documentation Measuring works on site, maintaining records, and managing variations, quotations, and income agreements Preparing monthly CVRs, accruals, forecasts, liability, and recovery reports Reconciling receipts, managing aged debt, and supporting contract controls Authorising invoices, managing contra charges, and maintaining commercial systems Preparing client KPIs and financial reports, ensuring logs and trackers are kept up to date About You To be successful in this role, you'll likely have: Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within highways is ideal but not essential Strong experience operating under NEC3 forms of contract Solid understanding of subcontract and main contract management Confident negotiation and communication skills, including client-facing interaction Strong commercial awareness with the ability to forecast, analyse costs, and manage risk Experience using Causeway and Microsoft Office Why Apply?
