Youve led finance teams. Youve delivered month-end. Youve survived year-end. Youve picked apart controls and cleaned up other peoples mess. Now youre ready to run the whole thing ... properly.
This is a brand-new role with no legacy and no baggage. It reports directly into the Finance Director for Financial Planning & Reporting, and youll be responsible for building a central accounting function that actually works like its supposed to.
Youll lead and develop the central accounting team, setting the standards for accuracy, consistency, and accountability. Your team will be responsible for delivering monthly management accounts, P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and group consolidation and supporting the wider Group Reporting function with stakeholder reports. Youll take ownership of year-end too, helping to deliver clean audit files and solid statutory accounts, with no last-minute panic.
Controls will be your responsibility. Youll review them, fix whats weak, and keep everything updated and in line with actual business processes. Youll also support treasury and cash forecasting in collaboration with the Head of Transactional Services and the reporting team.
This isnt just about keeping the lights on. The business is serious about driving improvement. That means youll be expected to find better ways of doing things, automating wherever possible, simplifying reporting, and helping build a finance function thats fast, accurate, and respected across the business.
Youll be ACA or ACCA qualified, with at least 3 years post-qualification experience, and youll have already held a finance leadership role. Youll need to be technically sharp, UK GAAP, IFRS, consolidations, but also confident enough to lead people, manage performance, and make tough calls. Youre the kind of person who spots gaps in process and actually does something about them, not because its your job, but because it would bug you not to.
In return, youll get the autonomy to shape the role your way. Youll be backed by a Finance Director who trusts their people and wants things done properly. Youll work a 35-hour week, with hybrid flexibility (two days minimum in the office), the rest up to you. Youll get 25 days holiday, paid family leave, life insurance, a cycle-to-work scheme, and all the usual benefits youd expect in a senior role.
