About the Role
As a Support Worker you will work individually and as part of a team to enable our members to live as independently as possible. You will work with our employment team to facilitate employment opportunities and assist and support our members to enjoy an active social life.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide personal or supported care.
* Work flexible hours, typically between 0700 and 2200, including early and late shifts, weekends, bank holidays, and some sleep‑ins in accordance with member need.
* Assist and support in the provision of social, health and personal care.
* Support members in moving, using wheelchair and hoist as required.
* Enable members to live as independently as possible and develop new and existing skills such as shopping, cooking and cleaning.
* Support individuals to observe Jewish Culture and achieve goals linked to the Kisharon Langdon mission.
* Assist in designing and developing support/care plans for members.
* Enable members to form relationships and wider social networks.
* Support at mealtimes and with social activities including music and art therapy.
* Attend appointments and maintain health and wellbeing.
* Promote and adhere to our workplace values (Respect, Integrity, Community, and Excellence).
About You
* Unqualified candidates are encouraged to apply – no prior support work experience required.
* Qualified candidates must have an Ofqual QCF (NVQ) Level 3 qualification or higher in Health & Social Care.
* Confident with dealing with challenging behaviours and able to provide personal care.
* Educated to GCSE level or equivalent, with a good standard of written English.
* Experience working with adults with learning disabilities or autism is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided.
* Hold a UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle for work use (desirable but not essential).
* Happy to work shifts as part of a rota system, which will include some weekend, bank holiday working and sleep‑ins.
* Work as part of a team to deliver an excellent person‑centric service to the people we support.
* Be flexible in your approach to work.
