1:1 Teaching Assistant - Year 4 (Job Share)
Location: Lancaster Days: Thursdays & Fridays (flexible) Start Date: ASAP or after October Half Term Position Type: Long-Term Pay: 14.20
Veritas Education are working in partnership with a welcoming primary school in Lancaster, who are looking to appoint an experienced and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 4 pupil with Autism and behavioural needs.
This is a job share position, currently set for Thursdays and Fridays, but the school can be flexible with the working days to accommodate the right candidate.
About the Role:
* Supporting a Year 4 pupil on a 1:1 basis within the classroom
* Providing tailored support to meet the child\'s needs and learning goals
* Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and external agencies
* Implementing behaviour management strategies and adapting approaches as needed
* Building a positive and trusting relationship with the pupil to foster confidence and progress
The Ideal Candidate:
* Must have previous experience in a similar 1:1 role, ideally supporting pupils with ASD and behavioural needs
* Strong understanding of Autism and effective strategies to support learning and emotional regulation
* Confident with behaviour management and able to remain calm and positive under pressure
* Resilient, patient and nurturing in your approach
* Team player who communicates well with colleagues and parents

* Days: Thursdays & Fridays preferred - but flexibility available
