Supply Secondary Design and Technology Teacher – Brighton Area

Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting a dedicated Secondary D&T Teacher to work on a supply basis in a vibrant and inclusive school in the Brighton area.
About the Role:
We are partnering with a forward-thinking secondary school that values creativity, practical learning, and technical skills. As a supply Design and Technology Teacher, you will deliver engaging, high-quality lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 in the absence of the class teacher. Whether it’s product design, resistant materials, textiles, or food technology, you will help students develop valuable skills and a passion for design and innovation.
This is an excellent opportunity for a D&T specialist who enjoys the variety and flexibility of supply teaching while maintaining the professionalism and passion of a subject expert.
Key Responsibilities:
* Teach Design and Technology to students across KS3 and KS4, following pre-planned lessons or adapting your own where appropriate
* Deliver lessons that incorporate practical, theoretical, and creative elements of the D&T curriculum
* Ensure health and safety protocols are followed in the workshop or classroom
* Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
* Encourage student engagement in problem-solving, designing, and making
* Work collaboratively with other staff and contribute positively to the school community
What We’re Looking For:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialism in Design and Technology
* Experience teaching secondary-aged students (KS3 and/or KS4)
* Confidence in delivering a range of D&T topics, such as product design, engineering, textiles, or food technology
* Strong classroom and workshop management skills
* A flexible, adaptable approach to teaching
* A genuine passion for D&T education and inspiring young people

Pay: Competitive
Hours: 8:30am – 15:30pm

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
