TEACHING ASSISTANT
Location – CARMARTHENSHIRE AREA
Pay - £14.25 per hour

Hours – Part time / flexible – NO WEEKENDS. Monday-Friday 08:30-15:30
We are looking for a resilient and compassionate Teaching Assistant to work within an ALN school is Carmarthenshire, supporting pupils with behavioural and emotional needs.
This role is suited to individuals who have experience in managing challenging behaviours and are passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning.
Please note: While we are committed to supplying consistent and stable employment, you will be working through an agency meaning work is dependent on school demand and cannot be guaranteed.
Responsibilities
Provide 1 to 1 and small group support for pupils with behavioural needs
Motivate and engage with pupils learning, daily routines, and structured activities
Building strong and trusting relationships with pupils whilst maintaining a professional and positive attitude
Supporting pupils during lessons, social times, and off-site activities if required
Work along side teaching staff and external professionals
Maintain high safeguarding standards and follow all school policies & procedures
Help to build a safe, stable, and nurturing learning environment
You will need to be
Experienced in working with children / young people
Resilient, reliable, committed to the role
Patient, adaptable, and calm under pressure
Enthusiastic and willing to engage in various activities such as sports, gaming, creative arts, and various other outdoor activities depending on what is required by the school
Requirements
GCSE grade C and above (minimum of 5)
Enhanced DBS check – on the update service help from your consultant
EWC registration (or willing to register)
Desired qualifications (not essential)
Team Teach Level 2
Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Youth Work, Childcare, or similar
Experience in PRUs, Alternative Provisions, SEN settings, or Youth Work
Behaviour management training
Experience supporting individuals with SEMH, trauma, or behavioural needs.
