We are seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer with a strong Electrical bias to join our Engineering team and support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our manufacturing and packaging assets. The Role Reporting to the Engineering leadership team, you will play a key role in delivering world-class maintenance support to the site. You will work closely with Operations to minimise downtime, improve asset reliability, and contribute to ongoing engineering and performance improvement initiatives, while acting as a role model for safety, standards, and professional behaviour. Key Responsibilities Deliver reactive maintenance support, responding rapidly to breakdowns and restoring equipment safely and efficiently Execute planned and preventive maintenance activities in line with the maintenance plan to maximise asset reliability and longevity Support proactive improvement activities, identifying recurring issues and contributing to root cause analysis and reliability improvements Collaborate closely with Operations and Manufacturing teams to prioritise maintenance activities that support production continuity Contribute to maintenance planning, providing technical feedback on faults, spares, job plans, and improvement opportunities Ensure full safety, food safety, and legal compliance, adhering to site rules, permit systems, isolations, and safe systems of work Maintain accurate documentation and reporting, recording all work, parts usage, and actions within the CMMS/MMS Provide effective team support and communication, ensuring clear handovers, issue visibility, and cross-shift alignment Undertake any other reasonable duties as required by the Head of Engineering or Site Manager Daily Expectations On a day-to-day basis, you will: Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults to minimise production downtime Complete scheduled maintenance tasks safely, to standard, and on time Identify and implement engineering improvements that enhance reliability, performance, and efficiency Support production during shift with a proactive, solutions-focused approach Communicate clearly with Engineering and Operations teams to ensure effective coordination and decision-making Key Competencies & Behaviours We are looking for an engineer who demonstrates: The ability to influence and support others The ability to coach, develop, and grow talented individuals and apprentices Effective stakeholder management across Engineering, Operations, and external partners A continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to lead and support change A solid understanding of food manufacturing or FMCG environments Experience or exposure to engineering compliance and standards Measures of Success Success in this role will be measured through: Planned Maintenance Completion Rate Breakdown Response and Resolution Time Reduction in Repeat Faults Positive contribution to Shift OEE Elkes Core Competencies All roles at Elkes Biscuits are underpinned by our core values: Accountability - Taking ownership and responsibility Discipline - Rigour, structure, and consistency in planning and execution Agility - Empowered decision-making and an enterprising mindset Respect - Treating colleagues, customers, suppliers, and stakeholders with care Transparency - Acting with honesty, integrity, and openness to build trust Qualifications & Experience Essential: NVQ Level 3 in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or above), with proven multi-skilled capability Strong electrical fault-finding experience in an industrial environment Experience working in a Food & Drink or FMCG manufacturing environment IOSH Working Safely (or equivalent) Experience managing key stakeholders and driving positive engineering change Desirable: HNC / HND or higher qualification PLC fault-finding experience Experience in maintenance planning or continuous improvement initiatives If this is of interest, please apply with your updated CV and a member of our team will get in touch! talentsolutionsbis
