Are you an experienced Fleet Engineer?
Are you looking for a new role within the rail industry?
If so, TXM Recruit are recruiting for an experienced Rolling Stock Engineers located at our two depots in Derby, East Midlands on a 3-month contract basis to drive both the technical and operational performance of our fleet. Alongside your technical expertise, youll take ownership of fleet performance KPIsoverseeing root cause data collection, validation, analysis, target setting, and reporting.
Key responsibilities:
* Own all Fleet Engineering activities and vehicle maintenance documentation, ensuring safety, compliance, reliability, availability, and customer outcomes.
* Set, monitor, and review KPIs for technical and safety performance, ensuring that all safety-related events are investigated and corrective actions implemented.
* Analyse statistical, technical and operational data to identify technical and performance issues, and develop solutions or mitigations to improve reliability, safety, train presentation, and asset performance.
* Manage all engineering modifications, changes, and NIRs, ensuring full compliance with regulations, correct documentation, and approval processes.
* Support depot and third-party maintainers with technical advice, coaching, and guidance, holding external teams to account for delivery to agreed standards.
* Validate and maintain the integrity of fleet performance data (MP701D/MTIN) and ensure accurate recording of defects and incidents.
What we require?
* Chartered Engineer (or working towards) with a degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
* At least 5 years in a technical, engineering, or operational railway environment, ideally in a matrix management structure.
* Strong knowledge of rail vehicles, rolling stock systems, and industry standards.
* Experience in maintenance optimisation, engineering modifications, and performance improvement.
* Skilled in data analysis, problem-solving, and project delivery.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with rail applications such as R2, Compass, and Gemini.
* Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and teamwork skills.
* Experience introducing new fleets of trains (desirable).
