* Hours of work: 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, term time only plus INSET days. This is a permanent post.

Responsibilities
* Following guidance from the class teacher, support pupils in their learning. Support individuals or groups of pupils, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities. Help pupils understand the learning, using appropriate strategies to support progress and engagement in learning activities.
* Assist pupils with personal needs as appropriate.
* Provide support for pupils’ emotional and social needs by encouraging and modelling positive behaviour in line with the school’s behaviour policy.
* Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school.
* Proactively identify where pupils may need support or additional challenge and take steps to meet their needs.
* Prepare the classroom with basic resources and equipment as directed by the teacher and assist pupils in their use.
* Be aware of pupil progress and achievements and report to the teacher as appropriate.
* Assist with the general pastoral care of pupils, including helping pupils who are unwell, distressed or unsettled.
* Be aware of school policies and procedures concerning working with children and report concerns to an appropriate named person. Assist with supervision of pupils out of lesson time, but within the school day and contracted hours as necessary for safety.
* Accompany teaching staff and pupils on visits and out-of-school activities as required.
* Attend relevant meetings and participate in training opportunities and professional development as appropriate.
* Adhere to the school health and safety policy, including risk assessments and safety systems.
* Adhere to school policy on equality and diversity. Support the curriculum.
* Assist with the development of basic Literacy, Numeracy and ICT skills and support their use in learning activities.
* Undertake broadly similar duties commensurate with the level of the post as required by the head teacher.
