Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Barnstaple for a Bricklaying Lecturer. The Bricklaying Lecturer will plan, deliver, and assess engaging and effective lessons for students pursuing qualifications in bricklaying and related construction disciplines. The role involves developing course materials, assessing student progress, providing constructive feedback, and supporting students in achieving their learning goals. Collaboration with colleagues to ensure the curriculum is compliant with industry standards and maintaining a safe workshop environment is essential. Participation in staff development programs and contributing to departmental activities are also expected.
Qualifications
* Proficient in bricklaying techniques and construction methods, with practical experience or industry certification in the subject area
* Strong teaching, lesson planning, and assessment skills to effectively engage learners at varying skill levels
* Ability to mentor and inspire students to achieve their academic and professional goals
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with students, colleagues, and stakeholders
* Commitment to promoting an inclusive and safe learning environment
* Relevant teaching qualifications, such as a PGCE or Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training, or a willingness to work towards obtaining one
* Experience in curriculum development or knowledge of construction-related educational standards is an advantage
