Support & Information Service Officer - Health Improvement. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
The shift pattern for this post is 9am–5pm, Mon-Fri, worked over 3 days. Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part time hours. Working as part of the Health Improvement Team in the Public Health Directorate, you will be responsible for co-ordinating, developing and delivering a Family Support Service within the Royal Hospital for Children. This post will provide tailored support to navigate and assist families to access patient information and support services relevant to their situation and individual needs.
You will play a key role in the day-to-day operational management of the Family Support & Information Service (FSIS) as a centre for information on health improvement; condition management and support issues for patients, visitors, carers, families, staff and students using the Service across the Greater Glasgow & Clyde area. You will deliver a range of services aimed at maximising health improvement opportunities and empowering individuals and families to manage long-term conditions. Your responsibilities will also include developing and delivering crisis support packages, providing patient information, connecting families with non-clinical partner organisations as well as providing non-clinical support to families during their child’s hospital care.
Responsibilities
* Coordinate, develop and deliver the Family Support Service within the Royal Hospital for Children.
* Provide tailored support to navigate and access patient information and support services relevant to individual needs.
* Manage the day-to-day operations of the Family Support & Information Service (FSIS) across the Greater Glasgow & Clyde area.
* Deliver services to maximise health improvement opportunities and empower individuals and families to manage long-term conditions.
* Develop and deliver crisis support packages and provide patient information.
* Connect families with non-clinical partner organisations and provide non-clinical support during hospital care.
Qualifications
* Educated to degree level or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline.
* Experience in Health Improvement, Public Health, or related health and wellbeing field.
* A strong understanding of health improvement principles and practices.
* Knowledge of health inequalities and barriers to accessing health care services.
* Proven skills in project planning and management, negotiation, problem-solving, and partnership working.
