We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual who is keen to work within the acute setting and be a support to both the Clinical Support Workers team and the Nursing team alike. You will be encouraged and supported to assist with patient care and safety, and have the opportunity to develop your clinical skills and receive structured appraisal, support, mentorship and training.
Responsibilities
* Direct patient care – this includes all activities of daily living.
* Work in support of and under the direction of a Registered Nurse, providing nursing care and assistance to patients within defined parameters specified by the Registered Nurse.
* Perform clinical skills such as observations, recording blood sugars, ECG, etc.
* Record patient information.
* Provide basic patient care and document that care in the patient records.
* Help ensure the unit is clean, safe, tidy and a comfortable environment.
* Work effectively with the multidisciplinary team to achieve desired outcomes that promote the well‑being of patients.
* Assist the RN's in the delivery of care to a designated patient group, demonstrating an ability to prioritise such care.
* Assist in the implementation of direct clinical care.
* Determine the comfort of patients by talking and listening to them and building rapport.
* Assist in feeding patients who are unable to do so themselves and complete food charts where necessary.
