Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
We are partnering with a highly regarded national engineering and project management organization to find a talented and motivated Design/Mechanical Engineer for their Brisbane, QLD office. Key Responsibilities:
* Undertake mechanical design using CAD packages (SolidWorks & AutoCAD)
* Perform engineering calculations and source components/equipment
* Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors during design and production
* Create sketches and designs to clearly communicate concepts
* Produce documentation including HAZOP, Risk Assessments, QA reports, and more
* Manage projects and contracts while ensuring high-quality output in line with customer needs and regulatory requirements
Skills & Experience:
* 5+ years' experience in mechanical engineering
* A Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering or similar, with exposure to structural/machined components
* Proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD Mechanical (2D)
* Strong problem-solving and communication skills
* Knowledge of Australian Standards and codes
* Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously
* Must be based in Australia with full working rights
* Experience with hydraulic systems, FEA, and electrical controls
* Mining and rail industry exposure is a plus
* Previous experience in drawing checking and project management
