We’re working with a major UK infrastructure and construction group with a national footprint and a strong pipeline of long-term public and private sector projects.
As part of their growth, they are looking to appoint a Legal Counsel (Construction) to join a high-performing Legal team, reporting to the Head of Legal
Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
* Providing day-to-day legal advice to construction and commercial teams across live projects and bids
* Supporting the negotiation, drafting and management of construction contracts across major programmes of work
* Advising on risk allocation, governance and procurement strategy at tender stage
* Acting as a key point of escalation for legal and commercial risk across projects
* Managing external counsel where required, including scope, cost and performance oversight
Profile:
* England & Wales qualified solicitor (or equivalent) with 3+ years’ PQE
* Strong experience in construction law (contentious and/or non-contentious)
* Solid understanding of NEC contracts
* Working knowledge of JCT and PPC forms
