Overview

We are looking for a welcoming and energetic Receptionist to join our Southwark team at The Hoxton, Southwark in London. The Hoxton, Southwark is the third Hoxton in our hometown of London. This area is known for its colourful history and features venues such as The Prince Albert pub. The property has 192 bedrooms and 2 restaurants — Albie (all-day dining) and Seabird (rooftop restaurant on the 14th floor).


Responsibilities

* Maintain a positive and friendly attitude at all times, even when working to achieve solutions to challenges.
* Manage arrival and departure processes for all guests, ensuring standard operating procedures are followed.
* Address in-house guests’ requests and record feedback per standard procedures.
* Ensure accuracy of guest billing, financial transactions and the Reception float.
* Ensure data accuracy in all systems and provide daily reports for all departments as per SOPs.
* Complete night reception tasks correctly and accurately in line with SOPs.
* Quote the correct rates as per selling strategy and website.
* Answer telephone calls promptly and efficiently.
* Monitor guests and their property to minimize security issues.
* Report maintenance issues to the correct department and verify work is completed.
* Maintain the integrity and presentation of public and back-of-house areas; correct deficiencies immediately.
* Collaborate with all hotel teams and outsourced partners to ensure guest satisfaction.
* Keep the Reception desk clean, tidy and presentable at all times.
* Be a member of the hotel’s crisis and fire teams.


Qualifications

* Attitude-first approach; enjoys helping others and remains calm under pressure. Night shifts involve a smaller team, so independence is valuable.
* Previous hotel or similar experience is beneficial but not required; eager learners can be trained.
* Desire to be yourself and contribute to a diverse team.
* Passion for hospitality and creating memorable experiences for guests and colleagues.
* Collaborative mindset with a practical, hands-on approach.
* Willingness to try new things and adapt as needed.
* Commitment to teamwork, hard work, and having fun along the way.
