Salary: FTE (£24,731 - £28,732) Actual Salary (£8,020 - £9,318) Point of the Professional Services Scale. Salary is dependent on skills and experience.
St Christopher is seeking a creative, organised, and enthusiastic Art Technician to work as part of the Art Department supporting the Head of Department, Senior Technician and supporting pupils to develop a high level of practical skills across a wide range of media.
St Chris is an independent day and boarding school for girls and boys aged 3 to 18 located in Letchworth Garden City, Hertfordshire. Our School was established in 1915 and, since then, has been working to do things differently if, and only if, it makes things better for our students. There are currently around 500 pupils on roll and 200 staff.

Roles and Responsibilities:
* Organise, prepare, and monitor materials and specialist art supplies for lessons and projects.
* Maintain, clean, and tidy equipment and studio spaces to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
* Assist with the safe storage, handling, and movement of student artwork.
* Support the setup of displays, exhibitions, and moderation shows, working closely with the Senior Technician and Head of Department.
* Provide digital and media support.
* Photography, video editing, and digital documentation of student work and events
* Offer general support to art staff, including in-class assistance, booking trips, and liaising with galleries.
* Contribute to school and community art projects (e.g. Recycled Fashion Show), including promotion via digital media and collaboration with external partners.
* Uphold all St Chris policies, including safeguarding, health and safety, equality, diversity, inclusion, and confidentiality.
Qualifications, training and experience needed:
* Degree or qualification in an art or design-related subject.
* Photography, sound editing, or social media for arts promotion.
* Knowledge of health and safety issues, including COSHH, or willingness to learn.
