Salary: £90-£105 per day (depending on experience)
A welcoming primary school in Huyton is seeking a dedicated KS1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team this September. You will be working 1:1 with a non-verbal pupil in Key Stage 1, supporting their communication, learning and social development through the consistent use of visual supports and structured routines.
Responsibilities
* Providing 1:1 SEN support for a non-verbal KS1 pupil
* Using visual timetables, PECS and other aids to support communication and understanding
* Supporting the pupil's participation in classroom activities and routines
* Encouraging social interaction and emotional development
* Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and external professionals to ensure progress

* Experience supporting non-verbal children or those with communication difficulties
* Confidence in using visual timetables, symbols and aids
* A patient, nurturing and adaptable approach
* Strong understanding of SEN strategies in a primary setting
* Resilience and creativity to engage pupils in their learning journey
