If so, we have an excellent opportunity for you! We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join us as an Occupational Therapy Apprentice within our County Wide Peripatetic Team in Integrated Adult Social Care at Devon County Council, starting in September 2026.
This is a dynamic team that works across a variety of Adult Social Care Services and therefore you will have the opportunity to access a wide range of learning opportunities within the programme.
This is a fantastic opportunity to achieve an Occupational Therapy degree qualification delivered by the University of West of England and be supported by DCC, whilst gaining ‘on the job’ experience to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to become a qualified Occupational Therapist.
We are looking for applicants who:
1. Meet the entry requirements of the University of West of England (UWE)GCSE minimum grade C/4 or above in Maths and English or equivalent Level 2 Maths and English.Evidence of Level 3 (A-Level equivalent) qualification equivalent to around 120, we may consider a lower tariff point for candidates who can demonstrate strong relevant experience or have recently completed further note, to enrol onto the programme you must provide certificates to evidence these qualifications at interview stage.
2. Have direct and varied work experience with adults with care and support needs, who have the potential to take on the challenges and responsibility of a qualified Occupational Therapist or for school leavers demonstrable understanding of these areas.
3. Are keen to learn and motivated to succeed.
4. Are willing to provide excellent service to the people of Devon.
This Apprenticeship is offered on a Fixed Term basis for 3 years.
After successful completion of the Apprenticeship, you will gain a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Occupational Therapy which will enable you to apply for registration as an Occupational Therapist with the regulatory body the Health and Care Professions Council.
