To deliver specialist waste, permitting and environmental advice to improve and maintain environmental regulatory compliance, reduce carbon emissions through minimisation, re-use and recycling of waste and increase business efficiencies, for example by optimising energy through waste including CHP. Accountabilities & Responsibilities To undertake site inspections and audits in accordance with Business needs (including maintaining ISO 14001 Accreditation) and regulatory requirements (including EPR (Waste and Installations), Exemptions, Duty of Care, etc.) Provision of specialist environmental technical expertise to their defined business area. To collate all regulatory site specific data for submission to the Environment Agency within the required timeframes. To maintain a working relationship with their local EA officers. Have an in depth knowledge of site specific waste and installation permits in the role holders defined area and ensure all requirements are being met. Technical Skills & Experience Good knowledge and understanding of wastewater and sludge treatment practices, techniques, policies and operational activities. A good knowledge and understanding of environmental legislation and environmental permitting requirements. Familiarity of different UU site permits and ability to interpret their specific requirements Knowledge, experience and skills in conducting inspections & audits. High levels of influencing skills. Good time management and organisational skills – able to work to deadlines and achieve objectives This role may not be eligible for the visa sponsorship Qualifications Essential Qualifications Degree / diploma in an appropriate subject Currently hold or able to obtain the CIWM professionally acknowledged WAMITAB NVQ level 4 qualification and maintain continued competence through biennial external examinations.
