Vine Medical Group isrecruiting for a full orpart time Salaried GP to join our friendly and supportive team. We arebased in Waterlooville, with a list size of 26,500 and keen to welcome anotherGP to our team.

For those who are interestedin Partnership opportunities we are happy to consider this at recruitment stageor at a later date following employment.

Our GPs undertake on average 13 x 15-minute facing-patientappointments a session, plus 3 admin slots in order to deliver the best andsafest service we can to our patients. Our salaried GPs have their own patient listonce induction / familiarisation phase has been completed.

We have both face-to-face andon-line clinics, as well as home visits, same day care and routineappointments. Our GPs have admin time structured into the working day. Our sameday care is run via a structured triage service managed by our care navigators witha GP Lead and ably supported by Paramedics, Nurses, and HCAs, as well as a MedicineManagement Team lead by clinical pharmacists.

As a training practice we are alwaysinterested in supporting GPs with any special interests. Newly qualified GPsare offered bespoke support and mentorship, regular whole practice trainingsessions and peer review opportunities.

Main duties of the job

To work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for theprovision of medical services to the practice population, delivering anexcellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the GMS contract.Furthermore, the post-holder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medicalpractice, contributing to the effective management of the practice, leading byexample, maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with themultidisciplinary team.

To see patients in accordance with the practice timetable,including consultations, visiting patients at home, as well as an equitableshare of same day care and extended access appointments.

To be able to work and travel between any of our sites andvisit patients out in the community

To proportionately participate in thedelivery of Enhanced Access hours.

We work collaboratively in a dynamic two-practice PCNpartnership (Strawberry Health) with a diverse team of MHPs, MINDRepresentatives, Care Co-ordinators and Social Prescribers who enhance ourservices and provide specialist support to our diverse patient population.

We are an EMIS Web surgery with ARDENs templates, useAccuRx, as well as being innovative with our AI-based online consultationsystem and other efficiency-enhancing technology.

Job responsibilities

* Provide a full range of medical services as defined inthe core GMS contract, additional and enhanced services where appropriate
* To see patients in accordance with the practicetimetable, including consultations (in whatever format) and queries, visitingpatients at home (including care and nursing homes), as well as an equitableshare of same day care and extended access appointments. Checking and signingrepeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence ina timely fashion
* Making professional, autonomous decisions in relationto presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other healthcare workers within the organisation
* Assessing the health care needs of patients withundifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
* Screening patients for disease risk factors and earlysigns of illness
* Developing care plans for health in consultation withpatients and in line with current practice disease management protocols
* Providing counselling and health education
* Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notesin a timely manner to agreed standards
* Accuraterecording of care provisiononto patient records ensuring correct coding of all procedures and informationusing approved methods and templates
* Collecting data for audit purposes and supporting QOFrequirements and data completion
* Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute andrepeat prescriptions utilising EPS
* Prescribing in accordance with the practiceprescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate
* Awareness of and compliance with all relevant practicepolicies/guidelines, e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, healthand safety
* A commitment to life-long learning and audit to ensureevidence-based best practice
* Supporting evaluation/audit and clinical standardsetting within the organisation
* Supporting the development of computer-based patientrecords
* Supporting the summarising of patient records andread-coding patient data
* Attending training and events organised by thepractice or other agencies, where appropriate
* Actively participating in all aspects of infectionprevention and control and championing this within the practice
* Be familiar with patient safety policy and reporting(QUASAR) and awareness of the process and key stakeholders for safeguardingreferrals
* Maintain accurateclinical records in conjunction with Practice policies and current legislation
* Adhere to the strict confidentiality rules, as agreedby the practice
* Work safely at all times in accordance withlegislative requirements and Practice Policy and Procedures


Person Specification


Knowledge & Skills

* A good understanding of GMS contracting requirements and the operation of the Quality Outcomes Framework (QOF) process
* Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
* Good organisational and time management skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and tasks
* An understanding acceptance and adherence to the need for strict confidentiality
* Excellent communication skills, able to effectively engage with a diverse range of people recognising the need for alternative methods of communication to overcome different levels of understanding, cultural background, and preferred ways of communicating
* Confident IT user with accurate data entry skills
* An understanding acceptance and adherence to the need for strict confidentiality
* Ability to work and travel between any of our sites and visit patients out in the community
* Proven ability to handle a primary care case load

Qualifications

* Currently registered GP with the GMC Registered on a medical performers list

Experience

* Experience of working within a busy GP Practice
* Experience of working to standards / guidelines applicable to Primary Care e.g. NICE, prescribing, QOF
* Experience of working with online triage system (such as Anima)
* Experience of using EMIS Web and Docman medical systems
