About the role: We are seeking GP Support Apprentices to join our busy practice team. As the first point of contact for patients, you will play a vital role in ensuring our practice delivers excellent patient care through effective communication, organisation, and professionalism, complying with NHS and Practice confidentiality policies at all times. Responsibilities: First point of contact by triaging personal and telephone requests for appointments, home visits, telephone consultations, and test results; signposting patients to the appropriate healthcare professional or service. Digitally scanning and uploading paper documents into the Workflow system to ensure secure and efficient document sharing. Managing and monitoring the clinical email inbox on MS Outlook to support timely communication and coordination. Taking messages and relaying information to relevant team members. Processing repeat prescription requests in line with Practice protocols and procedures. Overseeing and maintaining the practice’s appointment booking system, EMIS, to ensure smooth operation. You will become a system expert on this. Booking and processing routine blood tests and sample collections and referrals through SCI gateway. Communicating test results to patients as appropriate via systems like Medical Messenger. Handling and distributing incoming and outgoing mail accurately and efficiently. Coordinating ambulance transport bookings as required. We are looking for apprentices who are: Confident with a calm, professional manner. Willing to take on instruction and feedback. Good communicators with strong interpersonal skills. Salary: £14,133.60 per annum. Working hours: 36 hours per week over 4 days, between 8am - 5.30pm, Monday to Friday.
