Role: Commissioning Technician
Location: Peterborough (UK-wide travel required)
Salary: Up to £45,000 (DOE)
Start Date: ASAP
We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Technician to join a growing engineering team. This role covers the full lifecycle of installation and commissioning, ensuring all solutions meet technical, safety, and quality standards.
You will work independently and as part of a wider project team, supporting the delivery of site-based control systems for key clients.
Key Responsibilities
* Install, commission, and support site-based control systems and equipment
* Carry out site surveys prior to installation and commissioning activities
* Support commissioning documentation and project handover within agreed timescales and quality standards
* Work closely with internal teams, external stakeholders, and client asset operations teams to ensure full system integration
* Work in line with approved designs, equipment specifications, and configuration templates
* Ensure strict adherence to site safety standards during all installation and commissioning activities
* Comply with quality standards, industry best practices, and customer requirements
* Maintain strong customer communication, providing regular updates to clients and project managers
Skills & Experience Required
* Proven experience in installation and commissioning roles
* 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
* Understanding of SCADA, PLCs, RTUs, and HMI systems
* Experience configuring and testing manufacturer equipment
* Ability to work with remote configuration and commissioning engineers
* CSCS or ECS card
