Quality Inspector – Engineering | Competitive Shift Rates
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail‑driven Quality Inspector to join our growing engineering team. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical capability, confidence in precision measurement, and a proactive approach to maintaining high manufacturing standards.
Pay Rates
AM Shift: £15.20/hr
PM Shift: £18.70/hr
Night Shift: £21.28/hr
Overtime (Weekdays/Saturdays): £22.80/hr
Overtime (Sundays/Bank Holidays): £30.40/hr
Working hours are confirmed weekly and may vary depending on operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Inspect components and assemblies to ensure compliance with engineering drawings and specifications.
Carry out dimensional checks using a range of precision measuring equipment.
Perform inspection of welded joints and electrical safety testing.
Operate and interpret results from Co‑Ordinate Measuring Machines (ideally Mitutoyo).
Maintain accurate inspection records and support continuous improvement activities.
Conduct internal audits in line with ISO 9001 requirements.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Strong computer literacy.
Proficiency with Office 365 applications (Word, Excel, Access).
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including Geometric Product Specification (GPS).
Competence in using precision measurement tools such as:
Vernier calipers
Digital protractor
Shadowgraph
CMM equipment (Mitutoyo preferred)
Experience inspecting welded joints.
Competence in electrical safety testing.
Qualified ISO 9001 Internal Process Auditor (minimum IRCA).
