Qualifications – Operating Room Technician / First Assist
Minimum 1 year experience as an Operating Room Technician (OR Tech) or First Assist
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Operating Room Technician (ORT) certification required
Licensed First Assist with Virginia Board of Medicine
Clinical proficiency in Ortho, Da Vinci robotic procedures, Neuro, and Ortho trauma
Ability to assist with advanced surgical procedures: craniotomy, spine fusion, liver resection, Whipple, and MAKO total joint
Responsibilities – OR Tech First Assist
Assist surgeons during operative procedures in a 1:1 patient ratio environment
Prepare and maintain operating room equipment and surgical supplies
Document procedures accurately using Meditech EMR system
Participate in rotating call coverage for weeknights and weekends
Collaborate with circulators, surgical techs, and the healthcare team
Maintain a safe, sterile environment and comply with hospital policies and clinical guidelines
