Bid Writer
Solihull or Bristol
An opportunity has arisen for a Bid Writer to join the team at Galliford Try.
Ideally you will be based in or around the West Midlands or South West, with the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the region.
What you will be doing:
* Write high-quality winning proposal documents, including producing, coordinating, and editing written content.
* Manage the submissions process where required.
* Contribute to the bid team at key stages of individual tender projects, gathering technical information from internal departments to compile and ensure a high-quality bespoke solution is offered to the client.
* Actively participate in storyboarding and development of strategic themes.
* Ensure all proposals are prepared in line with tender programme requirements.
* Ensure submissions are produced to the highest quality and aligned with company bid management standards.
* Proofread material and provide technical and commercial writing skills.
* Assist with the development of bespoke proposals, best practice information, technique guides, template answers and style sheets.
* Build and develop relationships with key business sector teams.
* Produce high-quality documents and submissions in line with identified deadlines.
* Analyse and review previous submissions and document learning for implementation in future bids.
* Produce promotional/marketing materials and award submissions.
* Manage the submission content as part of the wider bid process.
* Assemble and shape construction information into compelling submissions.
* Write and edit pre-qualification documents.
* Write and edit capability statements and expressions of interest documents.
* Liaise with the wider pre-construction team for technical content.
* Create and edit presentations.
* Manage the internal Bid Library by updating with the business unit responses and searching for exemplar responses from other business units.
* Organise and attend tender feedback sessions to ensure continuous improvement.
* Capture and collate evidence to support submissions.
About You:
* Industry‑specific knowledge of bid writing within the construction market.
* Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative.
* Proven track record in the sector or a similar role.
* Excellent written English and communication skills.
* Flexibility to meet time pressures to deliver high-quality submissions on time.
* Exceptional writing, editing and copy‑writing skills.
* Adaptability and drive to progress the role into other areas, including business development, as and when necessary.
