This Pastoral Care Officer role will focus on promoting positive behaviour, supporting pupil wellbeing, and ensuring students are able to fully access their education in a safe and structured environment.
The successful Pastoral Care Officer will play a key role in managing behaviour, improving attendance, and providing emotional and pastoral support to pupils across the school. Key Responsibilities of the Pastoral Care Officer:
* Build and maintain positive, professional relationships with pupils.
* Provide daily pastoral support addressing social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
* Promote safeguarding, welfare, and wellbeing at all times.
* Support pupils who may present with behaviours that are challenging.
* Work closely with teaching staff, senior leaders, and parents/carers.
* Contribute to attendance strategies and pupil reintegration plans.
* Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment.

The Ideal Pastoral Care Officer Will:
* Have previous experience working in a Pastoral Care Officer or behaviour support role.
* Demonstrate strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
* Be calm, resilient, and confident in supporting young people.
* Have a good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
* Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply).
* Have a fully checkable work history.
