Job Title: Occupational Therapist / Physiotherapist

Assisting in providing Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy interventions for patients assessed by the team on the Hyper Acute Stroke Unit (HASU). Once deemed competent, the post holder will be able to assess non-complex patients, progress them, and plan discharges appropriately, liaising with key personnel and outside agencies accordingly.

To carry a caseload of stroke patients and manage their care, once they have been assessed by an Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist. The post holder will work under the direction and guidance of a qualified therapist but may work independently with immediate access to a therapist on site or by telephone/bleep. Other team members may request tasks to support workload management.

To work within the Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy team, with access to direct supervision from a qualified therapist when required. The post holder will use clinical judgment while undertaking their work within agreed plans.

To work as part of a multidisciplinary team and participate in a 7-day rota including weekends and bank holidays.
