Part-Time Shop Supervisor
Chacewater Garden Centre is a thriving and fast-growing retail business, known for our friendly service and high standards
We are currently seeking someone who is motivated and has a hands-on approach to work 3 days a week, Thursday, Friday & Saturday. They will focus on driving productivity, team performance, and shop readiness ahead of busy weekends.
Duties of the role will require you to assist in multiple areas of the Garden Centre, and will include, but are not limited to:
-Lead and support the till team, ensuring excellent service and efficient operation.
-Keeping the shop floor moving – assign tasks, following up, and making sure nothing is left undone.
-Assist with deliveries, merchandising and stock control.
-Delegate daily tasks and help the team stay focused and productive throughout the day.
-Work on the tills as needed, confidently serving customers and completing transactions.
-Work with management to make sure the shop is fully prepared and presentable for the weekend trade.
* You will be a key holder and maybe required to open and lock up, and act as the duty manager on occasion to cover annual leave.
What we're looking for:
-Someone with solid retail experience who understands the pace, expectations and demands of a busy shop floor.
-A natural motivator who leads by example and isn't afraid to get stuck in.
-Confident, polite, and customer-focused.
-Someone who takes pride in keeping things organised and running efficiently.
You must have exceptional customer service skills, be confident and polite. Horticultural knowledge is not required as you will have plant experts on hand who can assist you with any customer plant questions. You will be required to learn the products that we sell and learn where to find them in the shop.
Previous experience of EPOS tills would be a massive advantage as would any good computer knowledge/ experience. You will also be required to learn our policies and procedures so that you are able to carry out certain tasks on the till system such as: refunds, returns and credit notes, completing loyalty applications, checking stock balance and cashing up the till at the end of the day.
