Your Role
Working within the Air Quality team, your primary duties will include:
* Dispersion modelling, mainly using ADMS and ADMS-Roads;
* Designing and implementing ambient air quality monitoring plans, including passive and automatic techniques;
* Contributing to bid submissions, preparing quotes and tenders;
* Project management to ensure delivery within scope, time, and budget;
* Liaising with clients, project teams, and Local Authorities;
* Data collation and analysis;
* Report writing.
Some involvement in business development and raising the profile of the air quality team at senior and principal levels is also expected.
Team and Projects
You will join a team of over 35 air quality professionals working on diverse projects, including major national and international projects across sectors like water, mining, land development, transport, energy, and indoor air quality. The team provides assessments, monitoring, dispersion modelling, and policy input, including bespoke modelling and behaviour change campaigns.
Location and Collaboration
The role is based in our London office, accessible via public transport. Opportunities exist to collaborate with the wider UK and international air quality teams on various projects.
Candidate Profile
* Good numerical skills, preferably with maths and/or physics A-levels.
* A degree in a scientific discipline; postgraduate environmental qualification is a plus.
* Teamwork skills and excellent communication and IT skills.
* Ability to produce clear, concise reports and proposals.
* Experience in project management, supervision, and quality assurance of air quality work.
* Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and industry standards.
* Experience with data analysis using Excel and GIS.
* Proactive attitude and accountability for personal and team development.
* Membership of the Institute of Air Quality Management (IAQM) or equivalent.
Desirable: experience with Aermod and/or Calpuff.
