We are looking for an experienced Sales Designer & Project Manager to join our team on a maternity cover basis. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in bespoke cabinetry who can confidently manage projects from initial client enquiry through to final installation. You will play a key role in both securing new business and ensuring projects are delivered seamlessly, combining design expertise with strong project management skills.
Responsibilities
* Managing client relationships from initial enquiry through to project completion
* Conducting site visits, taking accurate measurements, and carrying out detailed site surveys
* Leading the sales process – preparing proposals, quotations, and presentations
* Interpreting client briefs and translating them into bespoke cabinetry designs
* Producing detailed drawings and layouts for kitchens and fitted furniture
* Managing projects end-to-end, including timelines, budgets, and coordination
* Liaising with the workshop, suppliers, and installers to ensure smooth delivery
* Ensuring designs are practical, manufacturable, and aligned with budgets
* Monitoring project progress and proactively resolving any issues
* Maintaining clear communication with clients and internal teams throughout
* Supporting business development and identifying new opportunities
Requirements
* Proven experience in a sales designer and/or project management role within bespoke joinery, cabinetry, or kitchen
* Understanding of cabinet-making and manufacturing processes
* Strong ability to design and draw up bespoke cabinetry
* Strong understanding of technical drawings and specifications
* Experience conducting site visits, taking precise measurements, and producing accurate site surveys
* Experience managing projects from concept through to completion
* Experience using design software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar – not Winner or ArtiCAD)
* Excellent client-facing and communication skill
* Experience working on high-end residential projects
* Ability to work effectively with builders and contractors on-site
* Strong organisational and time management abilities
* Commercial awareness and confidence in pricing and quoting
* Full UK driving licence
* Proactive, self-motivated, and solution-oriented approach
