Job Summary

The College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a Student Animal Care / Weekend Nursery Worker to work weekend & holidays. This candidate will perform a variety of tasks related to animal care.


This position will work between 8 to 10-hour days on Saturday and Sunday between 6:30am and 4:00pm and will be required to work holidays. More days will be added depending on holiday schedule. Hours and days subject to change.

Essential Functions
* Independently perform a variety of animal care husbandry duties like feeding, watering, grooming
* Cleaning the nursery
* Assist with animal treatments according to prescribed instruction
* Assist with Radiographs
* Update health/treatment records
* Maternal care of dams and neonatal care of puppies
* Transport animals to appointments
* May assist in canine whelping
* May participate in canine exercise and enrichment activities

Minimum Qualifications

* Must be a US Citizen
* Must be 18 years old
* Have a valid driver’s license
* Be able to lift 50+ pounds
* Have a current tetanus shot

If selected, employees CANNOT WORK / VOLUNTEER WITH ANOTHER VET CLINIC / HUMANE SHELTER .

Preferred Qualifications

* Previous canine breeding and whelping experience

Pay Rate $12.00/hour
