Responsibilities
* Provide healthcare to detainees in custody suites with round‑the‑clock coverage in line with a schedule agreed with the client.
* Maintain the safety of detainees while delivering high‑quality care under pressure.
* Exercise flexibility to work in your base custody suite and across an assigned region in the Police Custody Suites and Force area.
* Drive as required (must have a driving licence).
Qualifications
* Minimum two years post‑qualification experience in a patient‑facing role in a relevant clinical setting (Accident & Emergency, General Practice, Emergency Medicine, Acute Medicine, Prison Healthcare or Ambulance Service).
* Registered nurse (RN, RGN) or registered mental health nurse (RMN) with dual registration, band 5 minimum – 2 years post‑qualification.
* Paramedic – 2 years post‑qualification.
* Right to work in the UK (British passport or ILR for 3 years with no gaps over 3 months).
* Must hold a current driving licence.
* All candidates will be subject to Police vetting.
Benefits & Compensation
* Salary £41,000 per year.
* £1,000 bonus after completing 12 months of service.
* Full‑time fixed shift pattern: 4 shifts on, 4 days off; 06:45–19:00 for 2‑day shifts followed by 2‑night shifts of 18:45–07:00, with a rolling rota available 2 years in advance.
* Average estimated overtime £3,500 per annum.
* Payroll cover for NMC/HCPC registration.
