About The Role
Were looking for an Accountant to join our Group financial control team within our Finance directorate, and support the delivery of high-quality consolidated Group reporting. In this role, youll work closely with the Senior Accountant to produce monthly and quarterly accounts for reporting to CKI and the Board.
You will take ownership of accounting activities for several subsidiary companies, from maintaining ledgers, financial controls, and preparing statutory accounts to managing VAT returns. You will also act as a key contact for auditors, providing strong insight into financial statements and business performance.
A key part of the role includes drafting year end financial statements for several subsidiary companies and taking the lead on iXBRL reporting for the Group., Youll also support the simplification of the Group structure, assist with national statistics returns, and work collaboratively with subsidiary finance teams, Tax, Treasury, Legal, and external auditors.
Once established, this role offers hybrid working, with three days at home and two days in the office at Northumbria House, Pity Me.
About You
We are looking for a qualified accountant with demonstrable experience in a Finance role and a strong understanding of FRS 101 and IFRS, including the ability to interpret and apply accounting standards confidently.
You will be comfortable drafting and reviewing statutory accounts and ideally have experience with iXBRL tagging and staying up to date with the latest IFRS developments.
Youll bring excellent numeracy, solid literacy, and advanced Excel skills, along with broad IT literacy. Experience with systems such as Sage 200 or Certent CDM would be beneficial but is not essential.
