The starting salary for this role is £52,047 per annum, based on a 36 working hour week.
We are hiring two Strategic Leads to join our Corporate Strategy and Policy Team and play an important role in shaping the Council's corporate strategy over a key period.

About the Team
The Corporate Strategy and Policy Team is situated at the heart of the council and our mission is to lead thinking and stimulate collective action to enable delivery of the council's and residents' ambitions for Surrey. We add value and expertise around corporate strategy and strategic planning, policy analysis, design and development, strategic risk management and we champion equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) in all that we do.
We work on a breadth of topics, projects and issues which are centred around delivering and advancing the Community Vision for Surrey in 2030. Most recently our focus has included developing the council's proposals around devolution and Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) and we expect this topic to frame our work going forwards. If you want a role with a varied workload, you'll be at home in CSP. We work in collaboration with colleagues across every service area of the council and our work programme reflects the council's priorities and focus areas, whilst also responding to our changing operating context.
About the Role
This role plays an important part in shaping the council's strategy and works in diverse policy areas to help shape thinking, recommendations, proposals and solutions. You will be required to deliver and implement evidence-led policies and strategies that provide value for money and improve outcomes for residents. You will support the delivery of priority programmes for the council by developing and managing complex internal and external stakeholder relationships as well as planning and managing a range of activities to help seed, accelerate and embed change.
You will need to be able to demonstrate an ability to work at pace, be innovative and have a genuine interest in making a difference and a real change for the people of Surrey. You'll have the ability to work collaboratively with a broad range of stakeholders with a proven ability to inspire and motivate others.
You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to analyse data to present complex information and recommendations in a clear manner to a range of audiences. You'll have a successful track record of developing and delivering high profile, high impact strategies and policies, as well as an understanding of the key issues facing local government, the wider public sector and partners.

* Experience of managing stakeholders, influencing and negotiating in complex, political environments

* Understanding of central government and its workings and influences
