About The Role
We have a brand‑new opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Cambridge office. The office was established to provide a local presence on our projects and to leverage expertise in complex sectors such as Science & Research and Healthcare.
In this key and varied role you will support and deliver designs for a range of project types and sizes. You will work within a multidisciplinary team of engineers and support staff, delivering a consistent high‑quality service for clients, ensuring repeat and new business opportunities are developed and profitability achieved.
Responsibilities
* Provide detailed, coordinated and cost‑efficient electrical design advice to our varied client list.
* Tailor comprehensive service of specifications, calculations and reports.
* Design electrical engineering systems at the highest level using the latest software design packages.
* Take responsibility for solid technical delivery either alone or as part of a team.
* Explore new ways of working and taking time out for innovation and research to keep abreast of our competitors.
* Produce calculations, reports and specifications with good written communication skills.
* Attend DTMs/client meetings and site inspections.
* Work with minimal supervision and manage your own projects, reacting efficiently to multiple tasks and tight deadlines.
About You
* Proven experience working as an Electrical Engineer or closely related role, with a track record delivering complex projects.
* Understanding of all electrical services including lighting, fire alarms, security, data, containment and small power.
* Experience in a multi‑disciplinary environment, with excellent communication skills with both internal and external clients, and a team‑based work approach.
* Experience of modern technical delivery processes and use of relevant software/tools such as BIM, Revit, Electrical OM, Dialux and Relux.
* Self‑awareness, an open mind and a spirit of generosity.
* Conversant with relevant British Standards.
* Consultancy experience.
