Rotherham Council Housing Services
Three exciting opportunities have arisen to join Housing Services, part of the Adult Care, Housing and Public Health Directorate. We are seeking motivated individuals with a passion for improving service quality and enhancing our customer experience.
Housing Options (permanent)
Housing Options provides a wide range of services to support residents in housing need, including Homelessness and Temporary Accommodation, Lettings and Allocations, Furnished Homes, and Aids and Adaptations. These services deliver specific housing functions that work together to prevent homelessness, help people access suitable accommodation, and support tenants to live safely and independently, while ensuring fair allocation of the Council’s housing stock and full compliance with all statutory duties and regulatory requirements.
The Housing and Estates Service (permanent)
The Housing and Estates Service provides a wide range of services to support tenancy management and estate management. The service supports vulnerable tenants to live independently, whilst ensuring tenancy conditions are adhered to. Tenant Satisfaction Measures (TSMs) show a strong year‑on‑year improvement in how tenants feel about the maintenance of communal areas, and this role will play a key part in contributing to several of these measures by ensuring the service is developed.
Project Development Officer (Fixed‑Term, Until March 2027)
This role will specifically lead on the development of Rotherham Council’s District Heating service, in line with new regulations coming into place in 2026. The successful post holder will be directly responsible for supporting the implementation of proposals around Pricing, Transparency of information, quality of service and supply of heat, and the protection of vulnerable customers. It will be the responsibility of the project development officer to ensure regulatory compliance, including the potential for sourcing alternate billing systems, whilst focusing on delivering the best outcomes for residents.
These roles are ideal for someone who wants to make a meaningful difference to local people through service development, innovation, and evidence‑based improvement. You will be joining a fast‑paced service, so enthusiasm, forward‑thinking and adaptability are essential.
