Northgate is a vibrant, multi-cultural primary school situated very close to Crawley town centre. We have 660 children on roll including a maintained Nursery and Specialist Support Centre (SSC) for children with hearing impairment.
We are seeking to appoint a Clerk to governors. This is an interesting, autonomous and flexible role within education for someone who is self-motivated, flexible, reliable, thorough and has a passion for administration and compliance

Salary: up to £15.58 per hour

Duties of the Clerk to Governors are likely to include:
* attending governing board meetings and committees, producing accurate, succinct minutes and an action log for each meeting
* building relationships with the Chair of Governors and Head teacher
* collating and distributing meeting papers using an agreed approach and within agreed timescales
* supporting the governing board to comply with relevant legislation and procedures
* keeping meticulous and accurate records.
The expected number of hours across an academic year is 195. However, it is not on a regular weekly basis and, for pay purposes, the core hours are paid at 5 hours per week. The needs of the role can vary across the academic year and additional hours may be required on an ad-hoc basis. The majority of work is home-based and can be completed flexibly within agreed time frames. This will be discussed more fully at interview.
