Contract Electrical Engineer
Location: Manchester
Contract Length: Initial 6 months+
Start Date: ASAP
SRG are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join a leading engineering organisation in Manchester on a contract basis. You'll be supporting a range of ongoing capital projects, providing technical expertise across design, modification, compliance, and commissioning activities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Produce and review electrical design documentation, including schematics, cable schedules, load calculations and single‑line diagrams
2. Lead and support modification projects, ensuring designs meet relevant standards and client specifications
3. Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, suppliers, and site personnel to deliver high‑quality engineering solutions
4. Oversee or support commissioning, testing and troubleshooting activities
5. Ensure all work complies with relevant legislation (e.g., BS EN standards, ATEX, IEC, PUWER)
6. Provide technical guidance and resolve engineering challenges during project execution.
Required Experience
7. Degree or HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline)
8. Proven experience working in a manufacturing industry
9. Strong understanding of electrical systems design and LV/MV equipment
10. Experience using engineering design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Amtech/Trimble, ETAP - depending on role).
