We are a leading logistics provider based in Northampton, specialising in efficient transport solutions, including General Haulage, Pallet Distribution, and dedicated customer operations. Our team is committed to excellence, innovation, and delivering outstanding service to our clients.
The Role
We are looking for a proactive Temporary Transport Coordinator to join our team immediately. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day planning and management of transport operations, ensuring smooth and efficient delivery of services.
Key Responsibilities
* Work with Warehouse and Transport Supervisors to optimise transport capacity and vehicle usage.
* Create and manage daily transport plans for General Haulage, Pallet Distribution, and customer-specific operations.
* Ensure driver compliance, including licence checks and adherence to company policies.
* Monitor performance against KPIs and implement improvements where needed.
* Liaise with Warehouse Operations and on-site teams to meet customer requirements.
* Maintain high standards of Health & Safety and compliance with regulations.
* Support the rollout of a new Transport Management System (TMS).
* Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and internal teams.
What We're Looking For
* Essential:
o Previous experience in transport coordination or a similar logistics role.
o Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
o Understanding of transport compliance and vehicle maintenance.
o Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with Transport Management Systems (TMS).
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
