Overview
The Environment Agency is seeking a Commercial Assurance and Framework Management professional to support the commercial governance of contracts with key consultancies and contractors. The role focuses on maximising budget returns, delivering value for money, and embedding best practice partnership arrangements across the national team.
Responsibilities
* Support the Commercial Assurance and Framework Management Team in providing country‑wide commercial governance and assurance to Integrated Delivery Management teams.
* Analyze commercial and contractual interpretations to deliver the most advantageous solutions.
* Set up and manage pathfinder programmes to embed best practice and develop long‑term collaborative partnership arrangements.
* Develop strong relationships internally and externally, becoming an expert on contractual and commercial interpretations.
Qualifications
* A‑Level qualifications or equivalent.
* Skilled communicator with strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
* Stakeholder management experience.
* Strong data and document management skills.
* Commercial acumen – ability to understand, analyse business situations, take proportionate risks and deliver value for money.
* Administration skills – strong organisation skills, ability to write minutes and draft reports.
* Willingness to undertake long‑term professional qualifications such as NEC training or CIPS.
* Interest in infrastructure, construction or environmental programmes.
Desired Education/Professional Requirements
* Degree or equivalent professional qualification or experience.
* Working towards status with a recognised professional body such as ICE, CIWEM, APM, CIPS, or RICS.
* Formal training in contract management (e.g., NEC, Contract Management Capability Programme).
