Assistant Billing Officer (Maternity Cover - 9 months)
At LCP we love what we do, and it shows. We help our clients make good decisions based on insightful analysis, industry expertise, and game-changing technology. Working across a wide range of sectors, including pensions and benefits, investments, insurance, energy, health, sports, and data analytics, we help our clients navigate complexity in order to take the action that matters.
Summary of Key Duties:
The primary responsibility of the role is to assist the Finance department and the wider organisation in all aspects of the Billing process.
This is a key role with a high profile within LCP and will require the successful candidate to be confident in communicating with Partners and Staff at all levels. The candidate must also be able to demonstrate a record of attention to detail and a strong work ethic. Being able to work effectively in a team, building strong relationships, taking ownership of a task and showing initiative are key skills required.
The role will be varied requiring the candidate to be able to learn in detail the back office elements of the Star Billing system so that they can effectively support Partners and Staff. An understanding in technical terms involved in billing WIP (Work in Progress) is advantageous but most important is an eagerness to learn and a solid Administrative background.
Ideally the candidate will have worked in a Finance/Accounting department before and would have been involved in Finance systems, client onboarding and other aspects of the Finance function.
The main responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
* Back office tasks to facilitate the above such as
o Client setup and administration, client rates, posting disbursements and other charges
o Employee setup and administration, staff rates, timesheet maintenance
o Credit control support activities including ownership of client portals reference data set up and maintenance
o Other administrative function such as reviewing/maintaining charge rates
* Act as support to other members of the team – with regard to other important Finance functions such as Bank reconciliations and WIP transfers/allocations.
* Comfortable with using Excel, manipulating data for loading to Star and other back office functions.
A financial or accounting background is desired but not essential as training and support will be given to all aspects of the job.Having a good attitude, acute attention to detail, a willingness to try new things and take ownership of a task and a confidence to be a fully active member of the team is most important. As there will be a lot of contact at all levels of LCP, the ability to demonstrate good communication skills are vital.
A good understanding of all the Microsoft suite of applications is important, especially Excel and Teams. Any additional knowledge of invoice systems / practice management programmes (not necessarily STAR as training will be provided) and ledger systems such as Microsoft Navision is advantageous but not essential.
