Job Description:
The Role
As part of a multidisciplinary team, the post holder will be responsible for assessing care needs and developing programmes of care, as well as implementing and evaluating these programmes to ensure high-quality patient care.
The post holder is expected to perform all relevant care activities independently. They may also demonstrate procedures and supervise registered and unregistered staff, including student nurses.
Duties may vary depending on the ward/department and patient dependency levels.
Additional responsibilities after 2 years post-registration:
The post holder will oversee and coordinate the work of other staff within the ward or department to promote best practices in patient care. In the absence of senior staff, the post holder will provide cover to ensure effective ward/department operation.

Qualifications and Skills Needed
* Registered Nurse with valid NMC Registration
* Excellent team working skills and ability to work independently
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
* Basic IT skills
Preferred Additional Skills
* Post-registration development evidence
* Infection control training
* Experience in acute or medical admissions areas
* Knowledge of SIGN, trust procedures, and policies
* Assessment and intravenous drug administration skills
* Willingness to work unsociable hours
