The successful candidate will be responsible for the inspection, servicing, maintenance, and repair of a fleet of Heavy Goods Vehicles, ensuring all vehicles remain safe, roadworthy, and compliant with legal standards.Key Responsibilities:* Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs on HGVs and trailers* Diagnose faults using diagnostic equipment and rectification techniques* Perform MOT preparation and inspections to DVSA standards* Complete preventative maintenance to minimise vehicle downtime* Repair and replace mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components* Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company procedures* Accurately complete job cards, service sheets, and maintenance records* Maintain a clean and safe working environment* Comply with health & safety regulations at all times* Provide breakdown support as required (if applicable)Skills and Experience Required:* Proven experience as an HGV Mechanic / Technician* Relevant qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent)* Valid HGV driving licence (Class C or C+E) – desirable but not essential* Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills* Knowledge of DVSA regulations and vehicle safety standards* Ability to work independently and as part of a team* Good time management and attention to detailDesirable:* Experience working with mixed fleets* Trailer maintenance experience* IRTEC accreditation* Experience with diagnostic softwareBenefits:* Competitive salary and overtime opportunities* Company pension scheme* Paid holidays* Training and development opportunities* Modern workshop and equipment* Supportive team environmentJob Types: Full-time, PermanentWork Location: In person
