Teaching Personnel is seeking a motivated and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support a number of our specialist education clients in the Solihull (B92) area. About the Role We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide personalised support to pupils with a variety of additional needs, including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism (ASD), and Processing or Learning Difficulties (LD). You will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to help pupils engage with learning, build confidence, and develop essential life and academic skills. This role plays a vital part in fostering a positive, inclusive, and nurturing environment where every child feels supported, valued, and empowered to succeed. Key Responsibilities Provide tailored one‑to‑one and small‑group support based on individual pupil needs. Adapt learning materials, activities, and resources to ensure accessibility, engagement, and appropriate differentiation. Implement strategies outlined in EHCPs and individual support plans to promote steady, meaningful progress. Support pupils with communication, social interaction, emotional regulation, and behaviour using positive, proactive methods. Use specialist tools and approaches such as visual aids, sensory resources, and alternative communication systems. Observe, track, and record pupil progress, sharing key information with teachers and the SENCO to inform planning. Help maintain a calm, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment that supports learning and wellbeing. Assist pupils during transitions, break times, and off‑site activities to ensure safety and continuity of care. Encourage independence, resilience, and confidence, celebrating achievements and helping pupils develop strong self‑esteem. About You We are looking for someone who is: Passionate about supporting children with diverse SEND needs. Calm, patient, and able to maintain a positive approach under pressure. An excellent communicator who can build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff. A proactive team player with a flexible, adaptable attitude. Emotionally resilient and reflective in their practice. Requirements Willingness to complete a DBS check or provide an up‑to‑date certificate. Ability to provide two references.
