Winchburgh Academy is a new, state-of-the-art secondary school opened in August 2022, designed to foster twenty-first-century learning through creativity and digital technologies. The school features sports facilities of the highest standard, including sports halls, a 25m swimming pool, and outdoor artificial grass pitches.
The school initially opened with a S1 cohort, with expected growth to reach a capacity of 660 pupils by 2028. By August 2025, the roll is anticipated to be around 250 students (S1-S4). There is a future expansion plan to increase capacity up to 1,210 pupils. As of August 2025, approximately 20 teaching staff will be employed.

This position is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Successful candidates must join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check before starting employment, with the cost covered by the candidate.
The fee for Full PVG Scheme Membership is £59; existing members pay £18.
