About the Role
Prospero Teaching are looking for an experienced SEMH Tutor to work with young people who are facing complex Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly those with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges. These students are currently not attending school, and we need someone who can deliver tailored lessons on a 1:1 basis.
As an SEMH Tutor, you'll be designing and delivering lessons that are just right for each student, helping them bridge gaps in their learning and rebuild their confidence. The aim is to help them re-engage with education at a time when they might need it most. You'll be working with students who may have been out of education for a while, so your role is all about creating structure, offering support, and fostering both their academic and emotional growth during this crucial transition.
Key Details
· Location: Sidcup and surrounding areas
· Position: SEMH Tutor
· Start Date: ASAP
· Contract: Part-time (10-15 hours per week)
· Pay: £25-30 per hour
· Hours: Sessions are flexible-1 to 3 hours each (depending on student)
To be considered you must have:
· QTS, QTLS, PGCE, EYFS, or equivalent qualification
· At least 6 months of experience working in a UK school, especially with students who have complex SEN.
· It's a bonus if you have up-to-date Safeguarding training or personal care experience, though it's not essential.
Eligibility
· The right to work in the UK
· An enhanced child barred list DBS (or be willing to apply for one)
· Two professional references from the past two years
