Overview
IT Change Manager role at Markel International.
We are looking for an individual who will be responsible for overseeing, leading and improving the IT Change Management process.
What you’ll be doing
* Lead all aspects of the end-to-end IT Change Management process, including development, documentation, and enforcement of policies to ensure ITIL alignment, audit requirements, and organizational guidelines.
* Review and assess the impact, risk, and benefits of proposed changes to IT services, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
* Coordinate planning, testing, implementation, and validation of changes with IT teams, stakeholders, and business units.
* Lead Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings, ensuring changes are properly evaluated and approved by relevant stakeholders.
* Maintain comprehensive documentation of change requests, approvals, implementation plans, and post-implementation reviews.
* Identify opportunities for process improvements within Change Management and create improvement stories for the backlog; complete UAT testing and communicate change schedules, potential impacts, and outcomes to stakeholders. Manage the forward schedule of change and the release calendar.
* Facilitate post-implementation review meetings with support teams and change owners to audit failed, emergency, and expedited changes.
* Collaborate with the Configuration Manager to ensure changes to configuration items are recorded in the CMDB and work with Incident Managers to minimize disruption to IT services.
* Ensure all changes follow regulatory requirements and internal controls.
Our must-haves
* Experience in IT Change Management or a related IT Service Management role; able to use multiple risk models and drive adoption of scalable change processes.
* ITIL v3 or ITIL 4 Foundation certification required; advanced ITIL certifications are a plus.
* Experience with the IT Change Management Module in ServiceNow and implementing standard processes.
* Experience in a project-based environment (Scrum, Kanban, or similar) with ability to identify process improvements, document user stories, and perform UAT.
* Proficient knowledge of IT infrastructure, software development, and IT operations.
* Ability to assess complex IT changes and their potential impact on business operations.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
* Examples of driving automation of processes for efficiency.
* Proficiency in IT service management software (e.g., ServiceNow, BMC Remedy).
* Experience in a large enterprise or regulated industry.
* Ability and experience of working in a global environment.
