We combine technical expertise with a fast, client-focused approach, helping organisations reduce costs and carbon through fully managed, end-to-end services. As we continue expanding, we’re looking for a commercially sharp Senior Estimator to play a key role in our next phase of growth.
The Role
We’re seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to lead and manage tendering activity across LED lighting and Solar PV projects (ranging from 10kWp to 50MW). This is a hands-on, commercially influential role within a close-knit team, offering direct input into pricing strategy and business growth.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead preparation of detailed cost estimates and tender submissions
* Carry out accurate take-offs from drawings, specifications, and performance requirements (e.g. kWp targets)
* Build up costs methodically, including labour, materials, subcontractors, and risk allowances
* Source, analyse, and negotiate supplier and subcontractor quotations
* Produce commercially robust tenders with clear inclusions, exclusions, and risk considerations
* Liaise with clients, consultants, and internal teams throughout the tender process
* Attend tender reviews and support pre-construction and project handovers
* Mentor and support junior estimators, reviewing and improving output quality
* Maintain and develop cost databases, benchmarking against historical and market data
* Collaborate with Business Development, Solar, and LED divisions to support pipeline growth and bid strategy
Requirements
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in electrical or construction estimating
* Strong knowledge of electrical systems and/or Solar PV installations
* Proven ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
* Experience building estimates independently in a structured, methodical way
* Good understanding of subcontractor markets and procurement (ideally South East UK)
* Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
* Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines simultaneously
* Proficiency with estimating software and Excel-based systems
* Confident communicator, comfortable working within a small, collaborative team
* Experience in renewable energy / solar sector
* Electrical engineering or technical background
