Overview

The Cardiology Investigations Unit (CIU) at Frimley Park Hospital provides a comprehensive range of both invasive and non-invasive diagnostic cardiology services for inpatients and outpatients. Our services include a 7-day non-invasive testing schedule and a 24/7 Primary Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PPCI) service.

Advanced Cardiac Physiologist (Echocardiography) – Contract: Full Time, 1-Year Fixed Term (Maternity Leave Cover) – Department: Cardiology Investigations Unit (CIU).


Responsibilities

* Performing and reporting echocardiography procedures independently
* Supporting advanced imaging techniques such as stress and contrast echo
* Contributing to the training, supervision, and development of junior staff
* Acting as a specialist technical resource within the team
* Demonstrating flexibility in response to service demands and departmental changes


Qualifications and experience

* Expert with a high level of professional and clinical knowledge acquired through formal training / experience in echocardiography.
* Registered physiologist either with the Council for Clinical Physiologists and British Society of Echocardiography accreditation.
* The post holder will have substantial experience in cardiology, significant experience at a senior level with highly developed specialist knowledge in echocardiography.
* The post holder will carry out highly specialist echocardiography procedures including stress echo and physiologist-led valve clinics. They should hold specialised clinical reporting skills and knowledge.
* Personal management, including time management and the ability to prioritise.
