About the role:
Reporting the the Head of Engineering and Capital Programs, you will assit with the planning and execution of engineering projects across the group, driving safe, sustainable and cost-effective solutions to business needs.
Promote the standardisation of engineering and project management practices whilst ensuring safety is built into all projects and their subsequent operations. You will promote Best Practice and Technology Convergence initiatives, reducing cost and complexity and lead new Process Innovation to improve customer experience and Cost Of Goods Sold (COGS).
Responsibilities:
* Maintain a safe and healthy working environment moving towards a zero-accident community – ensure that our assets do not pose any unsafe conditions.
* Support Capacity projects across the group to help deliver “Winning Together” strategic sales targets.
* Deputise for the Head of Engineering and Capital Programs as required.
* Participate with the Best Practice teams - Hide to Gel; Extrusion to Reel; Shirring to Packing; Maintenance & Reliability, supporting projects that achieve the delivery of the cost saving targets on Engineering, Technology and Maintenance initiatives.
* Identify and address technical limitations across the sites impacting Safety, Quality, and output and support the transfer and sharing of knowledge across Engineering Community.
* Promote standardisation within Process Engineering to reduce cost and implement a Project Management process to ensure efficiency in spending and achieve capital spending in each year.
* Working closely with the Group Business Development (GBD) function to deliver improvements across the group to achieve superior customer experience via products that machine well, cook well, and have no consumability issues.
* Support the building of agility and flexibility in the Supply Chain.
* Build Engineering knowledge around the group, supporting, coaching, mentoring, if required.
* Responsibility to ensure that people within Engineering and Technology are engaged and possess knowledge, skills, capabilities to carry out work and that the talent base is developed to match strategy for Operations, especially for ‘Casing Engineers’.
